“The anti-dancing on ice”  – TimeOut London
“Ice skating, but not as we know it”  – BBC news
“A little revolution”  – La Presse, Canada
“A real performance art” – Le Figaro, France
“Le Patin Libre saves skating” – Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany

Le Patin Libre is the world’s first contemporary ice skating company.  Founded on frozen ponds in Canada, the collective gathers ex figure skaters who turned their athletic virtuosity into a legitimate and exciting mean of artistic expression worthy of the Fringe Festival.

OBB_8625‘This is Contemporary Ice Skating’ is a ‘best-of’ show gathering our best, funniest and sometimes most daring hits.  Perfect to discover our emerging art form.  The short show will be followed by an ice-dancing party for everybody, with the artists.  Affordable skate rental available.

Buying tickets at the venue
Anytime when it’s opened, 13£ only.  In preparation for the party after the show, why not have a practice on a public session while you’re there?  Public ice skating times are here.

A performance and a party?  I don’t understand…
First, a 40 minutes performance.
Then, spectators are invited on the ice.  It’s included in the ticket price.
Bring your skates or rent some from the ice rink skate shop (special Fringe deal for 2£).
There will be a great DJ from Montreal, a festive ambiance, our artists freely dancing amongst you, an fun initiation to ice-dancing and loads of fun for everybody.

Murrayfield Ice Rink might be the most awesome looking ice rink we ever turned into a venue!  With it’s original 1939 vintage seats, it is definitely worth a 15 minutes detour…
