29 Octobre 2007: Champions ready for D-day!
Skaters of the troop are successfull at provincial championships. Valérie Millette, Nicolas Tondreau-Alin and the Sebastien Buron-Véronique de Beaumont team are now all provincial champions in their categories! Impressing, when we know that they added night rehersals to their competitive schedule to be part of the troop's next show on this Saturday November 3rd. Also, congratuluations to Justine Gosselin (3rd), Charles Tondreau-Alin (6th), Jonathan Pelletier 3rd) and Sylvain Bouillère (3rd).

October 19th 2007: The Tradition Vs. The New Wave: Nicholas Young will face the guys of Le Patin Libre in a spectacular ice battle
Nicholas Young is an elite international figure skating competitor. He is amongst the best male skater in Canada. He accepted the challenge of the troop... A face to face. The tradition Vs. The New Wave. The disciplined athlete Vs. 3 crazy ice performers developping a new arobatic Xtreme Skating style. It's happening at our Halloween Party on Ice, at Sainte-Julie's rink, Saturday, November 3rd. Here's more info.

October 14th 2007: New ice show concept tested succesfully for a show organised by "Skate Canada"
Nicolas, Charles, Alex and Roxanne took a short day off from the preparation process for the Halloween show. They did a short appearance in teh heart of Québec city downtown area! Yes, outside! Their outdoor refrigerated rink is already working. Quebec city rules! For the first time, they performed a version of The Little Match Girl number involving a public's participation on the ice. We loved it and the people of Quebec city too. Skate Canada, who was organising this event was also delighted by this original new approach of skating. September 1st 2007: Le Patin Libre on Roller-Blades at Montreal's biggest theme park.
Last night , Le Patin Libre performed on Roller-Blades at "La Ronde" all-nighter party. The short performances included live deejeereedoo (australian tribal music instrument), rock 'n roll choreographies, stunts, fire breathing, etc. For an adult crowd, this time! New stuff again! August 22nd 2007: For local figure skating clubs and schools and childcare establishments
Le Patin Libre wants to bring its energy to more people! After some requests, we developped packages especially for local figure skating clubs, childcare establishments and schools: shows, participative ice activities, show-seminars, parties on ice, services for year end ice reviews, etc... August 20th 2007: Here we go!!!
The rehersals for the "Bal Masqué sur glace" are started! About 20 young skaters and some very high level skaters joined the troop and work together to develop original (more than that!) numbers that will appear during the event of November 3rd. Come back on the site, we will soon post pictures and video extracts...

August 7th 2007 : Xtreme Skating
Vous voulez en voir: cliquez ici. C'est, du patinage Xtreme! Une nouvelle discipline sur patins de hockey se dévelopant beaucoup en Europe et aux États Unis. Le Patin Libre veut l'introduire au Québec. Si ca vous intéresse: alex@lepatinlibre.com. Voici ce qu'un groupe de Xtreme skaters de Nottingham en Angleterre ont mis sur YouTube après qu'Alex leur ait rendu visite: "Nottingham Skaters meet Alex Hamel from Le Patin Libre (youtube.com/lepatinlibre and www.lepatinlibre.com). Alex was using hockey skates only for the first or second time, and was only on the ice for around 2 hours before pulling off the holy grail of xtreme skating, the fakie 720."

July 15th 2007: Le Patin Libre recruits young skaters!
Le Patin Libre is searching for about 40 young skaters to join its next show! You will hav ethe chance to become a member of the troop by skating in a group number! It's free! June 21st 2007: An Halloween party on ice
We can finally announce our new show and event! Saturday, November 3rd 2007, starting at 20h00, at the Sainte-Julie arena, Le Patin Libre invites you at its Halloween party! To keep the fun of Halloween alive one more night, you can join the troop to see its new creations and to skate with them! Come disguised and prepare for a night to be remembered.

May 5th 2007: Ice acrobats on YouTube
The skaters of the troop are working on the development of new and more acrobatical skating mooves. To see some extracts of those training sessions very far from the rigid tradition of figure skating, click here . You will discover our YouTube site. It is a great way to follow the evolution of the troop through all kinds of videos.

April 23 2007: The Little Prince on ice opens new doors
The ice review of Boucherville Figure Skating Club just ended. For this event, Alexandre Hamel, the leader of Le Patin Libre, adapted for the ice the famous story written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince. With this show of approximately 2 hours, the goal of Alexandre was to proove that even with very limited ressources, a figure skating show can be a real personal work of art.
